Here comes the fest im - world music intermunicipal festival. First edition. A cultural conquest. The best venues and audiences of an entire region come together to host twenty concerts by artists from around the globe: India, Guinea Bissau, Spain, Netherlands, Brazil, Colombia and Canada. From the 29th of May to the 24th of July 2009, a shared program between Águeda, Sever do Vouga, Estarreja, Ovar, Oliveira do Bairro, Albergaria-a-Velha and Aveiro will make fest im the cultural trademark for the region. fest im emerges from the world music theme festivals inheritance – an area of passion in d’Orfeu programmings -, promoted by the association annually in Águeda since 2002. The new intermunicipal festival brings together a joint program from the neighbour municipalities Águeda, Sever do Vouga, Estarreja and Ovar, the pioneers for a 4 year project, with three additional municipalities for this 2009 edition, and a roster of recognized international talent. This event offers a distinct cultural experience to the region, with local impacts benefitting each one of the participating municipalities. Welcome to the show. Let's make it a fest im !
